Keith and District Silver Band was not the first Brass Band in Keith.
Keith Town Band had been wound up in 19XX after having been in existence
since XXXX. However, the arrival of Tom Wright - a brass teacher
originally from South Shields - in 1967 resulted in his pupils and a few
adult players (some from the old Town Band) forming the new brass
ensemble. By 1967 the band was competing in the Fourth Section of the
Scottish Nationals at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
The following gallery is
a selection of newspaper cuttings and pictures of the Band and members over the years.
Additions to the collection are always welcome.
